Kid Cudi was arrested Friday on charges of criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance according to a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department.

This isn’t the first time the “Day ‘N Night” star had run-ins with the law. Last year, the Cleveland native was  accused of assaulting a fan at a Los Angeles club during a show and a month later was arrested by police in Los Angeles after residents complained of looting in the area. He was later released in a case of mistaken identity.

Despite the arrest, Cudi performed early Saturday morning at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee and after being introduced by funnyman Aziz Ansari, Cudi explained, “I really wanted to be here tonight.”
