If you’re one of our many New York readers, you’re probably aware the Brooklyn Bridge was temporarily closed after suspicious packages were discovered. At 9:40 am today, the Brooklyn Bridge was shut down due to a package that was suspected to have been a bomb. However, less than an hour later, the Brooklyn Bridge was re-opened, as the package turned out to contain flashlights.
The Brooklyn Bridge opened in 1883 and is currently being renovated, with construction affecting both ends of the iconic bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge is a national historic landmark.
