House star Olivia Wilde is joining the cast of an untitled thriller formerly known as Im.mortal.
Wilde will team up again with her Alpha Dog co-stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in the untitled film. No word on whether she’ll participate in Timberlake’s next hilarious rap medley.
The thriller is based on a future society that has eliminated the aging gene. After a person turns 25 years old, time becomes currency, even though he or she will physically remain the same. While the poor are desperate for time to live, the wealthy are immortal.
Specifically, the story centers on Will (Timberlake), a poor man who is falsely charged with killing a rich citizen for his time. To avoid the corrupt timekeepers who are out to catch him, Will goes on the run and takes a hostage (Seyfried.)
Wilde will play Will’s mother even though Timberlake is three years older than Wilde.
Directing Wilde in the film will be Andrew Niccol, who also took on the task of writing the screenplay. In addition to the project, Niccol’s directing and writing credits include the films Lord of War’ and Gattaca.
Wilde is quickly becoming Hollywood’s go-to starlet. Aside from Niccol’s film, she can soon be seen in TRON: Legacy opposite Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges. She also just finished Cowboys & Aliens and will soon complete her role in The Change-Up alongside Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds.
The untitled film is expected to be in theaters, with a title, in 2011.
