40 Year Old Virgin Stabbing: Actor Shelley Malil Gets Life Sentence
Shelley Malil, known for a small role in 40-Year Old Virgin, was sentenced to life in prison today for stabbing his ex-girlfriend in August 2008. Malil played Haziz in 40-Year Old Virgin, which starred Steve Carell and hit theaters three years prior to the stabbing. Malil will be eligible for parole in nine to ten years.
The 40-Year Old Virgin actor stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, more than 20 times because he found her with another man when he visited her home. Malil stabbed Beebe 23 times with a kitchen knife, but she miraculously survived to testify in court.
“I stand before the defendant alive,” Beebe said Thursday in court. “Despite plunging a knife in me 23 times and trying to kill me, I am alive. Despite the wicked scars he left on my body, I am alive.”
In addition to 40-Year Old Virgin, Malil appeared in TV series such Scrubs, NYPD Blue, Reba and Mike Hammer, Private Eye.
