Givenchy Fall 2011 – Beauty Report
Riccardo Tisci makes a big statement about duality with this collection, highlighting panthers and pansies, both aggressive and fragile. Inspired by Bettie Page and Amanda Lear, this was sexually subversive, dramatic and powerful with classic hair and makeup, perfectly balancing the hard and the soft.
Makeup was kept simple and clean, only slightly contoured to enhance strong cheekbones. Brows were carefully penciled while nude lips were matte and quiet, monochromatic with shades of light nudes on eyes with barely a hint of mascara allowing only frames in oversize cat eye shapes to give dimension to the face. Effortless low ponytails with a quick center part completed this uncomplicated look, casually quintessential and perfectly coordinated with the drama of the clothing.
