Well Raoul Keil and the team at Schön! Magazine have done it again. Schön! 11 is simply bursting with sparkling talent from start to finish, and I am enchanted by Chris Levine’s intimate portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the cover.
The cover is part of an exclusive preview in Schön! 11 of the National Portrait Gallery’s touring exhibition of portraits of the Queen commemorating her Diamond Jubilee. And continuing in its royal theme, Schön! 11 rising star Skye Stracke, a queen of the modeling world, shot alongside Miguel Iglesias by regular contributor Jannis Tsipoulanis in a gorgeous editorial: Paris is Burning.
We were particularly impressed with the elite league of male models featured in Schön! 11, especially Willy Cartier and Stephen Thompson, who have been featured in recent campaigns with Givenchy, and Sebastian Sauvé, who can be seen in campaigns for Zara.
But Schön! 11 isn’t just beautiful faces. There are some fascinating interviews with Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated visual effects supervisor Alex Frisch, award winning actress Lisa Edelstein and prima ballerina Polina Semionova to name a few.
Of course I’ve mentioned before how much I love that Schön! Magazine devotes itself to the preservation and appreciation of art in all of its forms—and Schön! 11 has some incredible discoveries for in artists Stephan Balleux and Elena Bombardelli.
Two more things you simply don’t want to miss: Stefan Milev’s Little Red Riding Hood-inspired shoot, just in time for the new movie, and Thanassis Krikis’ enchanting editorial spread “Home Alone,” which provides a second cover for this shimmering issue. Words simply can’t do this beautiful magazine justice.
Ok, I’m done gushing. Go pick up a copy! Or read it online! Or download it! I promise it will be one of the best decisions you’ve made in a long time.
