The Real Brain Exhibit At Bristol Science Centre
Following an inspection by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) last week, At-Bristol can today announce that one of the new exhibits in its latest exhibition All About Us will include a real human brain.
The exhibition, supported by the Wellcome Trust, has been developed around the seven themes of Cardiovascular, Reproduction, Locomotion, Senses, Digestion, DNA and Brains. The Real Brain exhibit will feature as one of the key exhibits within the Brains zone.
Commenting on the Real Brain exhibit, Goery Delacote, Chief Executive Officer for At-Bristol said: “There is nothing more interesting than to see something for real. As a science centre, it’s our role to bring the real world, and especially that not easy to see, to the attention of our visitors”.
The Real Brain exhibit – which comes with full consent from a anonymous donor and needed full consent from the Human Tissue Authority – is suspended in a large tank engraved with a full scale skeleton on one side and a diagram of the central nervous system on the other and is a key feature of the All About Us exhibition opening this week.
