Some Natural Beauty for Earth Day
Happy Earth Day!
To really live off the land beauty wise, here are a few natural beauty regiments that require no label reading because, well, you’re making it yourself or just using when you have laying around.
Eggs are amazing for damaged or weak hair. If you mix one egg with 2TBS of coconut oil and 2 TBS of sesame oil then apply it to dry hair it will work wonders. Some say to wrap a hot moist towel for 5-10 minutes and then, without wetting your hair work shampoo in and rinse (Try Emmet’s Essentials natural shampoo)
Avocado – makes an incredible face mask. Take ½ of an avocado and puree it. Add one tsp of olive oil. Apply to your face and leave on for 20 minutes. Then rinse your face.
Oranges – The acid from oranges are an amazing thing. You can use it to rid of dry skin on your elbows, knees or heels. Take one orange (leaving a small sliver out, abt 1/8 of the orange), ½ cup of granulated sugar and ½ cup of olive oil and blend together. Take your orange sliver you set aside and rub it over your elbows, knees or heel. Then, take the orange rub you made and rub it in the same areas. Rinse with warm water.
Olive Oil is one of the Earth’s greatest gifts. I use it a few times a week on my face before I go to sleep. It works as an amazing natural cleanser as well as a phenomenal mouisturizer. Put on a light layer before you hit the hay or even under your morning mousiturizer. Or, rub it gently in your skin followed by draping a warn, damp cloth over your face for about 5-10 minutes wiping the excess oil when finished.
More Olive Oil. Use it with a little sugar on your lips instead of lip balm. It will keep your lips feeling moist and it even tastes good.
Cucumber: Most people know that cucumbers are the greatest remedy for eye puffiness. But do you know that it can also remove dark circles? Put cold cucumber slices on your closed eyes for 15 minutes and watch your stress melt away.
Water – Water! Water! Water! There is no better way to keep your skin healthy and your being moving then getting enough water. You will be amazed at the difference in your skin once you start drinking the recommended dosage of water.
I wish you all a beautiful and healthy Earth Day.
