Rihanna has made chart history with her Britney Spears ‘S&M’ remix.
The ‘Umbrella’ singer – who is set to team up with Beyonce for a track on the ‘Single Ladies’ crooner’s forthcoming album – has achieved her 10th number one hit in the US after she topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts with the rehashed song.
Quite remarkably the Bajan beauty now holds the record for the shortest time between an artist’s first and 10th single, outdoing previous record-holder Mariah Carey.
The ‘Rude Boy’ performer managed the achievement in just four years, 11 months and two weeks, compared to the ‘We Belong Together’ singer’s five years and four months.
The worrying thing for other recording artists is that Rihanna is still only 23, with surely so much more to give in the music industry.
Britney congratulated the ‘Only Girl’ singer on the number one achievement, writing on twitter: “Congrats @Rihanna. Song is fierce! Anytime girl… – Britney.”
