OneRepublic has debuted their new tour webisode set to their fourth single, “Good Life,” off of their second studio album Waking Up. The video is a montage of several performances by the band, combining clips from concerts and of the guys just generally having a good time.
It’s nice to see OneRepublic enjoying their music and the lives that they lead; it always brings a smile to my face when I see a band getting along, and comfortable enough to take time out of their busy schedules to relax and have fun with each other, even if only for a few moments.
The song offers inspiration; not only within the lyrics, but the entire musical ensemble that is filled with African drum beats and tambourines that remind the listener of an epic sunrise or the awesomeness that is felt from the opening scene of The Lion King – an entire kingdom of people coming together for one glorious event.
It is so heartfelt and stirring that the band performed it Wednesday on The Biggest Loser: Couples for the remaining contenders on the show. The single’s message is perfect for The Biggest Loser – the contestants are happier with their new bodies and will continue their loving relationships, embarking on newer, healthier, more satisfying lives, which are all key components to the track’s intent.
I highly recommend the video to anyone feeling down, or just looking to sustain their good mood. “Good Life” is great and full of emotion, and the new tour video encapsulates and brings to light all the good vibes that the song – and the band – possesses.
