This incredible shoot of Australian model Bambi Northwood (Ford Models) was photographed by Tim Barber for the latest issue of Muse Magazine, titled Wildflower. Not just a regular editorial, this shoot occupies nearly 15% of the entire issue, and is spread across 40 pages! Shot up and down the coast of California, Bambi is dressed by stylist Susan Winget, in pieces including Acne, Dolce and Gabbana, Kiteya, Thakoon and Christian Louboutin.
It is most definitely a narrative editorial, following the story of a summer road trip. En route she prances around in bikinis, bodysuits, ballet slippers and boots. Bambi visit’s fast food restaurants, hilltops, secret swimming pools and stunning yellow blossomed fields. The locations for this editorial are totally breath taking, but Bambi does a fantastic job of not letting her surroundings outshine her.
Tim Barber’s photography really looks fantastic here. Every shot is expertly lit, the colors are fantastic and the composition is really interesting. I love how each shot is framed, and I feel the variation between photographs works really well.
I am having a really hard time choosing my favorite image from here. I seriously love them all. I love the underwater image, and the portrait of Bambi in the Just Cavalli dress. I could actually call every single one of these photographs my favorite though, I think they are all so strong, dynamic and interesting. I often find overly long editorials can get a bit tiresome, and a bit too repetitive, however, I think that this shoot is anything but boring.
