Shot by Alexi Lubomirski, Emma Watson is showing both good and bad girl sides for Harper’s Bazaar UK. This editorial is titled Good Girl Gone Bad? because apparently, when you are a child star growing up, you are not just growing up, you are going bad. Styled by Cathy Kasterine, the incredibly beautiful Harry Potter star wears a mixture of black and white designs (continuing the Jekyll & Hyde contrast) from label’s such as Louis Vuitton, Versace, Dior and Emillio Pucci.
I am a big Emma Watson fan. I once happened to queue behind her for a cash machine, and she really is just as stunning in the flesh. Of course, she now has her pixie-crop hairstyle, which she had done to symbolize the end of the Harry Potter movie franchise. This pixie-crop is replaced with a sharp, flapper-style bob from some of the photographs, which represent the bad girl.
The photography by Alexi Lubomirski here is wonderful. There is such a contrast between the two styles, and I think they work just as well as each other. For the good girl images, there is a dreamy, fairy-tale-like aesthetic, with lots of light and sparkles. The styling for the bad girl images is much more dramatic, with bright red lips and stronger posing. I do prefer the bad girl images, but I think this is just because it is nice to see Emma doing something more edgy and a bit different.
