I love writing about Lara Stone. In this simple portrait series for the July issue of Vogue Russia, Lara is shot by top photographer Mark Seliger. She appears alongside Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa, as she is dressed head to toe in minimalist chic designs by the label.
Usually a blonde, Lara goes brunette for the cover photograph, and shows off her effortless and timeless beauty in sleek and simple mini dresses (all of which are completely amazing). It’s no wonder Francisco Costa chose Lara Stone as his muse, I am yet to see her featured in an editorial that I do not love. She is definitely the top model of the moment, featured in countless publications every month.
Simple as this editorial is, the subtle make-up, by Romy Soleimani, really captures Lara’s natural beauty, and in the close-up shot, her make-up looks flawless. I think the decision to feature this editorial in black and white works really well. It makes each image look timeless, and it allows the wonderful Calvin Klein designs, chosen by stylist Camilla Nickerson, to stand out. For this reason I actually prefer editorial spread inside to the cover image.
All these images are stunning. I love the close-up, and I love where Lara is featured alongside Francisco Costa. Everything about this editorial is amazing.
