For the August issue off Vogue Paris, photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin take a collection of beautiful models, including cover girl Lara Stone, to shoot in Los Angeles. The model’s featured in this editorial spread are Lara Stone, Freja Beha Erichsen, Natasha Poly and Arizona Muse. These photographs showcase some of the best pieces from the fall collections, styled by Emmanuelle Alt, Suzanne Koller and Melanie Ward. In this editorial, designs featured are from the likes of Missoni, Jil Sander, Loewe, Gucci, Tom Ford and Louis Vuitton.
Lara Stone is definitely the stand out model in this editorial, I feel her story throughout the photographs is the most notable and eye-catching. In particular, I completely love the image where she is standing above two male models with her hair in pigtails. I love the bright blue sky in the background here, and the mirror image of the two similar male models.
I think there is a great mix of black and white and color photography in this series. I like both, the color images give a much more summery and light-hearted feel, whereas the monochromatic images are much more striking and dramatic. Although Lara is definitely the stand out model, I also feel Freja looks fantastic in these shots. I love the fashion in the Prada image, with the guitar, as well as the spotty dress in the Gucci photograph.
