Regular Vogue US cover star Sarah Jessica Parker returns to the pages of the publication for a family inspired editorial spread to promote her new film, I Don’t Know How She Does It. This editorial is shot by Mario Testino, and also features her husband Mathew Broderick, and her three children James Wilkie, Marion and Tabitha. Sarah Jessica Parker is the perfect cover star for Vogue’s Age Issue (August 2011).
Sarah is dressed in garments from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Proezna Schouler and Chanel. She brings her daily life to the pages of Vogue. This New York fashion icon is working the bold fashion choices as effortlessly as her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. Stand out designs include the Michael Kors sheath dress and coat, and the Chanel yellow tweed jacket and skirt.
I feel the cover image is not as strong as the editorial images inside, as it is not as creative and interesting in the styling and location. I actually really like the editorial images, and I think Mario Testino’s photography makes Sarah Jessica Parker look fantastic. It is nice to see her in this type of family scenario, and ties in really well with the release of her new film. I love all the images that involve the children, and I think these are the best, Sarah looks really great and is the focus of the photograph, but everything in the image looks great and works well to create an overall playful aesthetic.
