For the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia, Jemma Baines is channelling Jean Shrimpton, for these photographs shot by Luke Irons. These engaging portraits are styled by Jillian Davison, in some of the stand-out pieces from the fall collections. For this sixties style editorial, fashion selects include pieces from the likes of Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, Bally, Prada and Burberry Prorsum.
Jemma wears these mod inspired outfits in a series of colorful and vibrant portraits for the September issue of the publication. It is a very typical fashion shoot, and fairly unimaginative in its approach to creative direction and overall look. However, these shoots are repeated again and again for a reason, they are the perfect way to showcase the best looks from the new season, as the photographs are not dominated by heavy styling, props or over-thought creative direction.
There is an expressive nature in these photographs. Jemma is great at this energetic style of posing. One of our favorite image is the close-up of Jemma’s face, in oversized goggles and a furry hat. A lot of these images are very strong, and the fashion piece in this whole series if the gold cocoon coat by Stella McCartney, it is a gorgeous design and it photographs beautifully.
