For the August issue of Vogue, Steven Meisel photographs an all-star cast, capturing five of the top trends from the fall collections. The model’s featured are Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel, Raquel Zimmerman, Anais Pouliot, Audrey Marnay, Fei Fei Sun, Guinevere van Seenus, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy, Arizona Muse and Liya Kebede. These glamorous portraits are shot by Steven in a studio, and are styled by fashion editor Marire-Ameline Sauve with fashion selects from labels including Gucci, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Prada.
This is a very impressive studio shoot, which is titled Double Take. All the images are very enchanting, and the overall look is timeless and chic, as the photographs are shot almost as if the models are sitting and having their portraits painted. The fashion designs featured compliment the antiqued staging and lighting perfectly, which is what gives them the timeless, arty feel.
As always with a shoot like this, it is hard to know where to begin picking a favorite, as there is just so much to take in. I am a big fan of Karen Elson, and I love the photograph where she is sitting, dressed top to toe in python print. The other image that stands out to me is the shot of Candice and Miranda, where they are sitting together in lacy designs. It is a beautiful image, and they are two of my current favorite models. Hair styling by Guido Palau and Make up by Pat McGrath.
