“Urban nineties” was the theme for Alexander Wang’s Spring 2012 collection, a story of a fun, rock n’ roll girl with a hint of athleticism. Wang wanted to illustrate the tougher side of his woman, with a devil may care type attitude. Coming off his resort collection, the look was inspired by a feeling of speed and velocity, someone living in the “danger zone”.
Driven by lights in the big city, and a “fast woman”, hair was wet and stringy with the ultimate in sophistication. Who has time to dry their hair when the world is waiting on them? Prepping hair with Redken’s Full Frame 07 All-Over Volumizing Mousse, Guido Palau coated locks from roots to ends before creating a messy center part and rough-drying. Makeup artist Diane Kendal kept the makeup simple, just a sweep of MAC smolder eye pencil on the lids with a touch of MAC gloss texture on the center to intensify dewy complexions.
