Dr. Dre fans have been waiting anxiously for the long discussed “Detox” album, originally announced in 2000 after the success of the Doctor’s “The Chronic 2001” LP. Followers have been teased with every new detail as release dates have been thrown at us for almost a decade now with no product delivered. It may be more hollow hype, but Kendrick Lamar, the Compton rapper also known as K. Dot who Dre himself proclaimed “The New King of the West Coast,” offers a few more details concerning the album that’s most well known concept is delay.
During an interview with Shade 45’s Shade Calloway, Lamar divulged that “Detox is getting mixed. That’s all I can say…I could say anything about Detox, nobody would ever believe me.” Lamar, who contributed to the unreleased album, also stated that “The creative process is so crazy as far as going in there and narrowing down all these songs. [There are] Thousands of songs.” Lamar remained quiet on a release date, something that should come as no shock to Dre fans who have been following Detox news since the start. Stay with Bloginity as more details on the long-awaited album come out.
