Elite Model Management Sets Up Shop In China
Riding on the coat tails of international brands like Christian Dior and Vivienne Westwood, prestigious modeling network Elite Model Management is setting their sights eastward. To Shanghai to be exact. The agency housing some of the biggest names in the business—Elson, Deyn, Bochert—is bringing the brand to China, opening a branch in early 2012.
Taking full advantage of the shift, Elite has selected 70 aspiring models from 70 different countries for a special boot camp to prep for the modeling agency’s 28th Elite Model Look World Final, which will take place in the city on Dec. 6. The competition’s official website (http://www.elitemodellook.com/) has all the information you need.
Noemie Lenoir will be part of the judging panel for the event while other top models including Fei Fei Sun, Nyasha Matonhodze, Natasa Vojnovic and Magdalena Frackowiak, are tutoring the contestants. Each of the agents on the panel will be looking to tick off a basic model checklist (beauty, proportion, and height) and then, depending on their country, it’s a question of satisfying the need of their clients.
Elite is also flying in Kylie Minogue and The Scissors Sisters to perform as part of the competition, which will be hosted by Gossip Girl’s and tween-punk icon Taylor Momsen.
Whoever is chosen is sure to be the next big name, and will undeniably join an iconic agency that represents and has represented such notable models as Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Carol Alt, Liya Kibede, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, Paulina Porizkova, Alessandra Ambrosio, Coco Rocha, Stephanie Seymour and Nadja Auermann.
