Jason Wu transports his collection to the Orient this season as a nod to his Chinese heritage. His collection was inspired by three different Archetypes of the Chinese woman; a combination of military, the King Dynasty, and classic 1940’s Hollywood glamour blossomed into the fierce warrior woman on the Wu runway.
Hair was less dominatrix and more fighter influenced; waist length locks were slicked into high, tight ponytails bound with black bondage tape for a stallion-like edge. Makeup artist Diane Kendal created a picture of a very strong woman with her smoky green eye. MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Tealo was used to create a base for its Eye Kohl in Minted, a light green, that was layered through the crease. To add texture and dimension, MAC Eyeshadow was blended in Club and its Pigment in Kelly Green brushed outward toward the temple before tracing the lash line with its Eye Kohl in Blooz, a dark blue, and a black cream liner to extend the elongated shape of the pigments. MAC Haute and Naughty Mascara amplified top lashes only, while lips were left bare, save for a touch of its emollient Lip Conditioner.
