Bastille Metal Works, a premier manufacturer of custom cast zinc and pewter counter tops, range hoods, and furnishings, have created an ornately unique table inspired by the Telfair Museum of Art, the South’s first public art museum.
The Bastille artisans utilized their innovative technique called slip-casting to provide a seamless design based on the beautiful architectural molding atop a column in the interior of the Museum’s Telfair Academy. This original pewter tabletop with a handmade zinc base reflects Savannah’s rich history as a flourishing arts and cultural hub while maintaining Bastille Metal Work’s signature sleek and modern style.
The table was auctioned off as a part of the Telfair Museum’s 32nd Annual Ball and Bash for their Live Auction. The table received a $5,000 bid with all proceeds going to benefit arts education and outreach in the Savannah community. The event was an overall success with a record attendance and an estimated $165,000 raised in all of the Museum’s combined auctions.
