Agyness Deyn wanted her Dr. Martens range to look like it had come from a thrift store.

The model has created some pieces for the brand, which is best known for its shoes. She has described how she went about the design process.

“I love the style of some of the ‘90s most famous couples, like Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder and Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis,” she explained.

“I love that grungy look, that freeness and real vintage vibe. I wanted the collection to look like someone had gone into a charity shop, like I did when I was a teenager, and come out dressed head-to-toe in what they’d bought. It’s a wear-it-all-together collection.”

As well as footwear, Agyness has come up with clothing and accessories for the brand. Among the pieces is a jumpsuit which is tartan, maxi dresses and plaid shirts.

Agyness is good friends with designer Henry Holland, who influenced her creations without knowing it.

“My reality of designing comes from him and seeing how he works,” she told vogue.co.uk. “You do learn from what you see and I think being around him helped me not to second guess myself and made me more confident.

“I just had a gut feeling about it from the beginning. It’s been so much fun and so creative. I think of something I want to own, but can’t find anywhere and the Dr. Martens says, ‘OK let’s make it.’”
