The annual style ceremony will take place on June 4 at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
It’s been announced it will be made available for fashion fans to watch a day later on style.com.
Staff at the famed site will also be keeping people updated with all the gossip from the event via social media and blogging websites.
“Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, said the online show will broaden the awards’, and the organization’s, audience beyond industry folk,” reports WWD.
There will be a red carpet as part of the live show, with designers expected to chat about the ceremony.
The CFDA Awards nominees were announced in March, with Tommy Hilfiger receiving the renowned Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
Marc Jacobs is in the running for the womenswear prize against Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough for Proenza Schouler, and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row.
Another big announcement for this year’s ceremony is Johnny Depp’s nod for the Fashion Icon Award, won by Lady Gaga last year. The actor will be the first man to win the prize.
