Louis Vuitton is working with Yayoi Kusama again because her “energy is endless.”
Marc Jacobs is the creative director of the iconic label, which is collaborating on a new line with the Japanese artist.
The line will debut on July 10 and Marc had a great time creating it.
“Her energy is just endless,” he said.
“Through the painstaking sort of obsession in each of her canvasses and installations that she’s created, you see this world that never ends. I guess that’s what I admire and that’s what I respond to in terms of feeling for her and for her work.”
The pieces will take in some of Yayoi’s best known works. Her spotty patterns will be feature on leggings, skirts and bags.
“Louis Vuitton has outlets and fans all around the world and I hope, like with other collaborations, and expect, like other collaborations, that this will bring the work of Kusama to a new audience and that’s the audience of Louis Vuitton,” Marc is quoted as saying by vogue.co.uk.
“It continues something I began when I came here which is the idea of art and collaboration, or collaboration with artists.”
Vuitton was involved in the artist’s February exhibition in London.
