Oscar de la Renta: Look after your body
The fashion designer believes you can only achieve true confidence by making an effort to be healthy and polished.
Having dressed the likes of late First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, the Dominican fashion creative has made beautiful tailoring for women his speciality but he added that no dress looks good without that inner glow.
“To look good dressed, you have to look good naked. Feeling positive about your body is an important part of being well dressed. You can have a beautiful dress, but if you’re not well groomed, it means nothing. Looking after your body is an effort you have to make daily,” he told the latest edition of UK Glamour.
Oscar also thinks a flattering scent is an essential addition to a stunning gown.
The top couturier reminded fashionistas to be careful when choosing the fabrics for their garments.
“I love perfume. A beautiful dress without a beautiful fragrance is like a flower that doesn’t have any scent,” he said. “Lace, broderie anglaise, Chantilly lace and cotton voile make delicate blouses and dresses.”
