The ten finalists in the running for this year’s CDFA/ Vogue Fashion Fund have been confirmed.
The ten designers who are in the running for the prize were confirmed yesterday. They will present collections to a panel of specially chosen judges at the end of the month. They will also need to create a one-of-a-kind jewelry design for Tiffany & Co. and put on a catwalk display at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
Among those to make the grade are Andrea Lieberman, Tabitha Simmons and Wes Gordon. Assembly New York’s Greg Armas is also in the running, along with Giulietta’s Sofia Sizzi and Justin Salguero, Daniel Silberman, and Alina Silberman of Illesteva.
Jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher, Jennifer Meyer Maguire, Max Osterweis and Greg Chait might also scoop the award.
The winner will be announced at a lavish gala dinner held on November 13.
Last year Joseph Altuzarra triumphed, taking home the $300,000 prize.
The Fashion Fund was set up in 2003 to help fledgling designers make it in the industry. It offered monetary help and the winner also gets advice from a figure in the fashion, such as CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg.
