The exotic model – who is of Italian, French and Egyptian descent – has appeared in campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli and Chanel Eyewear.
Elisa picked up a lot of modeling tips from her mother, who was also involved in fashion.
“My mother taught me how to make the most of the camera. She used to work in the fashion industry,” she told the latest issue of UK magazine Marie Claire. “Part of the process is watching yourself and learning from mistakes, even if it feels cringey. It’s also about taking risks. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but then there will be that one picture that does.”
The 24-year-old star went on to speak about her beauty mishaps.
Elisa was unhappy with her appearance when she was growing up, so decided to pluck her eyebrows. However, looking back she realized that was a mistake.
“When I was a teenager, like all young women, I wanted to change myself,” she explained. “I started plucking my eyebrows, until I saw an old picture of myself and realized the shape was better before. I think that a woman who doesn’t hide behind make-up is always more seductive.”
Elisa has a laidback approach to make-up and prefers to look natural. She feels most at ease curled up at home with a good book or working out.
“I’m a lying-on-the-sofa-with-a-book kinda girl, especially as my life tends to be hectic. But I’ve started running and doing Pilates and it’s changed my life,” she smiled. “With all the traveling I do, my back used to suffer but I’ve realized exercise really helps.”
