Giorgio Armani designed the official uniforms that the Italian Olympic team wore to the official opening ceremony on July 27th.
The men’s uniform includes a blue navy suit with soft two buttoned jacket in cotton jersey, embroidered with the iconic Italian Olympic Committee logo in silver on the breast, teamed with classic trousers, a light blue cotton shirt and a regimental tie. Additionally, the uniform also includes a packable single breast blue nylon rain jacket and lace-up suede wingtips in blues. All the garments have a label with the words to Fratelli d’Italia on the inside and detailing in the colours of the Italian flag.
The women’s uniforms, a softer version of the men’s uniform includes a blue navy outfit in jersey made up of a sporty two-buttoned jacket with the Italian Olympic Commitee logo embroidered in silver on the chest, matched with fluid trousers featuring seams on the knees, a light blue cotton shirt and a scarf.
These pieces are joined by an impeccable packable single-breasted blue nylon rain jacket, and a light blue pique polo shirt that is also embellished with the embroidered Italian Olympic Commitee logo. The streamlined shoes are wing-tip brogues in blue and light blue suede. The Fratelli d’Italia label and detailing in the colours of the Italian flag along the inner edges add a discreet and patriotic touch.
