Vera Wang’s split with her husband of 23 years has become the source of intense speculation.
The wedding dress designer and Arthur Becker have decided to go their separate ways, with a statement given to WWD yesterday insisting the break-up was amicable.
Several other sources have now spoken about the relationship, with all giving different opinions.
One insider insisted to New York Post that the pair have been experiencing difficulties for some time.
“They used to fight all the time in public, even at dinner. They would berate each other in front of other people, even though it made others uncomfortable,” the insider claimed.
The allegations have been thrown out by another source who is adamant the pair will remain close friends even though they are no longer in a romantic relationship.
“Vera, Arthur and Wang president Mario Grauso remain the best of friends, and Vera and Mario will continue to run the company. Arthur will act as a consultant on new business development, as he always has,” the source said.
Vera and Arthur were together for a long time before they tied the knot and have two daughters together.
The designer has previously explained her failure to find the kind of gown she wanted for her trip up the aisle inspired her to move into the wedding dress business.
