Jessica Stam appears in Basil Soda’s Fall/Winter 12 campaign.
Soda is best known for creating structured items which usually come in black and white. Although he has dressed stars including Carrie Underwood and Marion Cotillard, the designer isn’t a huge name in the industry.
According to WWD, he has snapped up Stam as his new season star in an effort to boost his profile. It is hoped the campaign will resonate with audiences in Europe.
The images were taken by Daniel Sannwald and one sees the model posing in a tight black satin dress, with silver metal detailing at the neck. She is sporting latex gloves and stares seductively at the camera with her chin raised. Stam’s pale flesh stands out against the dark backing of the picture, with her lips also seemingly painted black.
The images will feature in a number of big magazines including French Vogue, thought to be appearing later in the year.
Soda started out in the fashion world as a couture designer, but moved into the ready to wear arena in 2010.
