A vintage inspired femme fatale dominated the runway at Jason Wu, a classic beauty stepping right out of an image by Lillian Bassman. Provocatively adorned in leather and lace, transparent body suits and leather harnesses revealed every perfect curve of the body, sexually suggestive in titillating textures. Helmut Newton inspired beauty flawlessly complimented the direction of the season. This is a look that is different than we have seen on the runways thus far, clean and tight and very structured. Odile Gilbert, working for Kérastase Paris, created an intricate braided chignon for the hair. High shine hair was slick and smoothed with Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire, deeply parted and held in place with Double Force Hair Spray.
A single finger wave opposite the part strongly gave a chic effect to the total look. Diane Kendal used MAC backstage, producing a multishade red lip layering MAC Cherry Red lip pencil all over the lip, outlining the lip with Vino Lip Pencil. Next, she added MAC’s Lady at Play and Lush Life lip colors, topping that with Process Magenta Lip Mix for high-definition romance. High contoured clean skin was defined with MAC sculpt color in Taupe under cheekbones and in the crease of the eye. Lids were topped with Lemon pigment and lightly lined with black pencil to enhance lashes, which were curled and painted with Naughty Black mascara. Brows were carefully lined, sharpening the whole image of a dominatrix straight out of the 40’s.
