Inspired by the Bauhaus school of design, Iceberg’s fall 2013 collection employed black as its canvas with accents of reds, yellows, and blues adorning the simple yet beautifully tailored garments. Strong graphic quality of those highlight knits in a huge arrangement of circles, squares, and triangles in signature YSL colors only highlighted the inspiration even more. Lapels in blues and boxy hats all played into the vision and created a unified look.
the slim cut pants paired with well fitting sweaters worked well with the structured coats garnished with leather patches. Individual items could easily slip into one’s wardrobe, but we’d love to see multiple pieces hanging in a closet. This actually may have been one of the most cohesive collections on offer this week. That was easy to digest almost immediately. What’s harder still? Picking a favorite must-have piece from the line up. The graphic sweaters or the jackets? The pants and belts make a strong argument for themselves. The classicality of the designs exudes their modernistic German roots in a way that has this girl swooning at the simple beauty of it.
