Makeup Trends Spring 2013: Dramatic Liner, Part 2 of 6

The year is finally over, and as we begin a new one we want to put the best face forward. Taking inspiration from icons of the past to images in nature, artists created looks on the runway that made a serious statement. Colors were more vibrant, skin was a little brighter, and eyes were bold with drama in full effect. It’s been a few seasons since we have seen so many options, au natural being favored in lieu of brazen beauty for Spring, but 2013 is loud and very, no pun intended, in your face.

The image of the femme fatale continued with dramatic liner for a savage sex appeal that brought attention to the intensity of the eyes. A “day after” look worn by a woman on the go was smoky and a bit on the naughty side at Miu Miu, MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder swept upwards for a retro flicked up effect that was also seen at Thierry Mugler. The same eye pencil was used to rim eyes that were lightly smudged for a more modern feel at Roberto Cavalli and Lanvin.
