This collection was all drama, a refreshing step away from the summertime Coachella chic look we saw with the Spring ready to wear debut. The looks were strong and a little on the masculine side with a twist of the futuristic. Structured suits in unconventional boyish cuts and thigh grazing dresses with pops of neon color spawned a fun new image of a quirky, but svelte woman with a color story that included bold metallics and eye popping brights worthy of a pretty severe double take.
“Donatella was really obsessed with a neon green metallic that’s in the shoes and in the clothing – really lime, hot green metallic,” Pat McGrath explained of the high impact color we saw unapologetically painted across lids on inner and outer corners. Eyes were deep, dark, and extra smoky for bold sex appeal that seduced the viewer into dreams of 24 Karat Gold, Mink, and full force glam. Skin was smoothed and brows were groomed pushing the total look to perfection. Hairstylist Guido Palau created contrasting textures with sleek, smooth shine using Redken Hardware 16 gel to pull hair back off the face, and Redken dry shampoo for a natural wave that hung around the shoulders. “It’s very modern, not overblown out or anything.”
