Mean Girls 2? Is it really happening? Apparently, yes. Although the original Mean Girls dropped in 2004 (yes, it’s been that long), Mean Girls 2 is slated to premiere tonight on ABC Family, with a DVD release February 1. Unsurprisingly, Mean Girls 2 will not feature Lindsay Lohan, whose legal problems have all but derailed her career. However, that won’t hold Mean Girls 2 back; one of the Plastics actresses, Nicole Anderson (Hope), explained that Mean Girls 2 is more intense than the original.
The band doesn’t sound anything like Lynyrd Skynyrd, but Memphis May Fire may be the hottest thing to come out of the south since the producers of the unfortunately ubiquitous “Sweet Home Alabama.” Memphis May Fire actually couldn’t be farther in sound from the classic rockers of “Freebird” fame, but that doesn’t make them incapable of turning heads. The Texas-based band has been compared to the likes of Underoath and Every Time I Die, favoring a sound commonly (and quite ambiguously) classified as “post-hardcore,” but adding a unique southern element. The band released Sleepwalking (download here) on Trustkill Records, home of Bullet For My Valentine, It Dies Todayand other intense acts.
