Eddie Fisher, a popular 1950s pop singer, died Wednesday night in Berkeley, CA. He was 82. Fisher is the father of four children, among them actress Carrie Fisher, who gained famed in the Star Wars saga.

The Social Network, the highly anticipated film that chronicles the rise of Facebook and the alleged deception of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is set to hit theaters October 1. Even before the release of The Social Network, though, word of Zuckerberg’s dishonesty and betrayal has been talked about in some length. Often leading the discussion were Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, identical twins and former Harvard classmates of Zuckerberg. The two claim Zuckerberg not only stole the idea for Facebook from them, but also cheated them in a lawsuit settlement.

Director David O. Russell’s The Fighter looks as though it could be a tough contender come Oscar season. The Fighter, starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams, depicts boxer “Irish” Micky Ward’s difficult rise to success in the ring. Although audiences have seen this plot before (all six Rocky films, Cinderella Man and The Wrestler, to name a few), almost everyone likes an underdog story.

According to the Associated Press, Lindsay Lohan failed a drug and alcohol screening test that assessed the actresses’ substance intake within the last month. The struggling actress has pledged she will reshape her image and even appeared in a skit during the 2010 MTV VMA show poking fun at her alcohol problems.

Finally, it seems that comedian Zach Galifianakis is getting his due. The comedian had been performing hilarious stand-up for years before catapulting to fame in The Hangover, and now he’s set to star alongside Robert Downey, Jr. in Due Date. Evidently, Lady Gaga chose the MTV VMA 2010 show to illustrate her new movement in fashion – that clothing should be tasty as well as stylish. The Lady Gaga meat dress married fashion and function in a carnivorous sartorial delight. Although PETA probably didn’t appreciate the Lady Gaga meat dress, Bloginity sure did. And we were so inspired by Lady Gaga’s meat dress that we’ve prepared a special MTV VMA 2010 recipe: Lady Gaga Kebabs.

We were excited to see that MTV finally allowed a woman to host the VMAs again when we tuned in to the MTV VMA 2010 award show last night, but our excitement didn’t last long. Why? Because the host was Chelsea Handler, a female comedian who admits that her technique consists of “comments that aren’t actually funny.” We at Bloginity could not agree more.

Tiffany Livingston, a 21-year-old Playboy model, attempted to open the door of her plane mid-flight due to intense anxiety. Livingston reportedly suffers from anxiety attacks, though this was the worst.

Eminem hasn’t won any awards yet, but MTV has bestowed quite an honor on the rapper – it’s been announced that Eminem will open the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards show. Eminem is nominated for eight awards at the 2010 VMAs, thanks to his tremendous effort, Recovery.

9-year-old Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Smith, has just signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and has released her first single, “Whip My Hair.”

The official video for “Whip My Hair” will be shot later this month. According to Will and Jada, they found Roc Nation to be a good home for Willow Smith because of the label’s passion and integrity.

America’s Got Talent chose its final four last night, and the contestants were a show, to say the least. The America’s Got Talent final four consists of Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity and Jackie Evancho. Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback and husband of Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was involved in a two-car accident in Boston this morning. Brady was reportedly unhurt, and Bundchen was not in the car at the time. According to his team, Brady was not hospitalized and has no excuse for missing practice. Pictures of Tom Brady’s crash are below.

It saddens us to bring you the news that Rich Cronin, former singer of boy band LFO, died Wednesday due to complications from leukemia. News of Rich Cronin’s death was reported on Twitter by Lance Bass, of ‘NSYNC fame.

“Sad sad day that Rich Cronin died- was a amazing guy. : (” Lance Bass posted around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

If you thought Google was fast before, get ready for it to be faster. The mystery surrounding the Google logo and Google homepage changes has been solved – it all seems to have been a digital drumroll for Google’s new Google Instant. Google Instant is what the name implies: instant results, even before you’re done typing.
Auto-complete is now obsolete, as Google Instant is the next step in predictive search technology. The Google Instant search enhancement looks just like the standard Google search, until the search bar moves to the top of the page and your results begin cascading below.
