    Charlotte Ronson shows a more ladylike, refined collection. Fall is all about a "wardrobe for a real girl," the young designer says. Darker hues ruled at Jill Stuart, the line is very rocker girl with a touch of sweetness. At L.A.M.B. Gwen gives us 90 s grunge with a little retro to compliment. Plenty of eccentric statement sweaters and impeccably pleated skirts on hand. Yigal s line is ultra femme but packs a serious punch, smooth leather garments, fur trapper hats and python print. Business as usual at Hervé, that is if business is sexy, sexy, sexy. Models decked out in the signature bandage dresses accessorized with buckled leather harnesses

    East meets west at Vivienne Tam with an extremely eclectic mix of interesting prints and textures. The Designer calls the line, "Shangri la Remix," and says the pieces are a representation of "Himalayan, street, slick tailoring," Asian inspired wrap skirts paired with perfectly tailored skinnys, loose fitting trousers, outerwear with Mongolian fur trim and cozy scarves.     Carolina Herrera s fall collection is all about timeless glamour. New for fall...floor sweeping gowns in navy, black and siren red. At Betsey Johnson, it was business as usual, glitz and fun! Models donned, bright neon tights and crazy prints ranging from animal to psychedelic. Old school Hollywood glam at Badgley Mischka...models strutted down the runway in tweed pants and slinky metallic gowns, sure to be seen on the red carpet. Tracy Reese s line is vibrant and vivacious. Filled with gorgeous shift dresses, flowy tops and shorter hemmed skirts that feel young and fresh. Pamella Roland is all about the dress...with nature inspired prints, fabulous fur accents and flawless beading.
  • Badgley Mischka Fall 2012
    The latest collection is all about old Hollywood glamour. Inspired bythe movie, Metropolis, the designers took an architectural approach tothe pieces, "our clothes are inspired by the angles and the light. Of course it was a black and white film and we colored it...in our mindshow we thought it would be colored," says Mark Badgley. Models strutted their stuff in tweed pants, gold lame, charcoal, black and slinky metallic gowns with incredible detailing...perfect for any red carpet. Celeb supporters included, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Kate Mara, Joan Rivers and Fashion Police host, Kelly Osbourne, who said, "I m a huge fan of Badgley Mischka, when it comes to fashion, Badgley Mischka s gowns are so beautiful!"

  • DVF Fall 2012
    It was a star studded front row Rachel Zoe, Barbara Walters, Anderson Cooper, Oscar de la Renta, Solange Knowles and Molly Sims at DVF. Appropriately named "Rendezvous" its all about, "seduction and being bold, daring, strong...being a woman," says the Designer. Colorful and fresh from shocking electric colors such as lime green and fuschia , to more modern black and white hooded jumpsuits with a plunging neckline and fabulous sheath dresses. Sleek leather gloves, metallic belts and sunglasses complete the look. Hair was slicked back in buns with deep side parts. Diane wanted "a hairdo that depicted a very strong, confident woman," said Phyto hair stylist, Orlando Pita.
  • Nanette Lepore Fall 2012
    Lepore is infamous for her especially girly design aesthetic and this season is no exception. The line is, "a mix of Oscar Wilde dandyism and some imagery...the patterns and prints, feelings and colors of a deck of tarot cards," says the Desginer. Models strutted their stuff in playful skirts, shift dresses, jackets and slim cut pants in brilliant colors like cobalt blue and citron, complimented by gold lamé and burnt orange. Lepore s signature prints are also included in the collection. Stanley Tucci calls the clothes, "beautiful, beautiful, the color choices are incredible ands she s a very singular vision...she makes what she wants to make and its fantastic."

    Fittingly named, "Future Perfect," this collection certainly is filled with delightful Jetson like garments. "The Milly girl is all about high structure, perfect accessories and she s a beauty junkie, all the way down to her fingertips," says CND Founder, Jan Arnold. Avoiding the trend of the moody hues, Smith decided on vibrant colors like hot pink, kelly green and cobalt blue for the structured pieces...notably a fuchsia frock with black overlay. Every look was accented with gloves and some with fabulous hats and veils.

    Zac Posen shows a stunning fall collection, heavily influenced by the Far East; his gowns are the epitome of glamour. At Jenny Packham, the pieces are super femme but a little rough and tough around the edges. Bold shoulder embellishments on luxurious frocks including a sleek floor length, gold dress. Its all about the layers at Custo Barcelona, the line is very artistic. Dalmau plays with rich colors and textures and creates a perfect storm of fringe, wool, fur and lace. Catherine Malandrino s designs are a sexy take on both day and night, neon hues with pops of traditional black. Inspired by the 80 s movie "Cat People."

    Carolina Herrera has a knack for timeless opulence. New for Fall, "navy blue and black for daytime...and lots of glamour,"she says. Models floated down the runway in floor sweeping ballgowns, delicate silk dresses and brilliantly tailored separates. Front row admirer, Renée Zellweger was impressed, "immaculate, she always surprises me. Consistently beautiful," she says.

    In true Betsey fashion, her fall 12 line is fabulously flamboyant... a colorful and sparkling ode to 60s rock and roll. The Designer describes the collection as, "the couture side of me, more beautifully made, more beautifully tailored." Models in; faux fur trim, itty bitty miniskirts, glittery bottoms, menswear inspired outwear, newsies caps, bright neon tights and crazy prints ranging from animal to psychedelic. "I think her show is just so much fun," says reality star/mom to be, Kristin Cavallari, who sat front row.

    Typically known for her ultra femme, seventies inspired frocks; Taylor shows a darker side in this collection. "I wanted to design a collection that felt really personal," she says. A nod to the cool, "downtown" chick, the designer chose dusky hues such as charcoal, plum, black and Bordeaux. Fashion forward socialite, Oliva Palmermo says the pieces are "very wearable." Models adorned in full length dresses with abstract print, plenty of wool and velvet layers and smooth leather over delicate chiffon.
  • Hervé Léger by Max Azria Fall 2012
    Front and center at Hervé; former supermodel Beverly Johnson, Kate Mara, (Rooney Mara s sis) and socialite, Tinsley Mortimer. Max and Lubov Azria certainly bring sexy back this season; with signature skin tight bandage dresses. Every look accessorized with buckled leather harnesses, adding an element of toughness to the clothes. "I like the leather accessory...makes sexuality more aggressive," says Max Azria. The line is complete with plunging necklines, a gold sparkling mini, an ultra glam, silk maxi dress and touches of black fur. The hair straight blunt pony tails. Makeup kept simple, "one coloron the lips, cheeks and on the eyes," says makeup artist Lisa Butler.

    Ronson steered clear of grunge this season and showed a more ladylike, refined collection. Fall is all about a "wardrobe for a real girl," the young designer says. Rich leather pencil skirts, backless dickies and sheer bohemian dresses flooded the runway. Definitely a matchy matchy feel to the pieces. "every season I see the growth in her design," says Russell Simmons. Flawless hair and makeup accentuated the line. Slicked back pony tails with wispy pieces for hair and a bold red lip with a bright lavender on the eye. Front row admirers included, Russell Simmons, Nicky Hilton and Kim Kardashian s BFF, Jonathan Cheban.

    Duckie Brown designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver sent the story of their lives down the runway. "The inspiration is us. It s our story. It s the lives we lead...it s all new and it s all old and it s all funny and humorous," said designer, Steven Cox. The duo stayed true to their quirky sensibility with loose fitted pants and well tailored jackets. The color scheme simple; greys, blacks with touches of blue, red and green. The looks... "encourage guys to wear classic pieces that have a little bit of a twist," says celebrity stylist, Robert Verdi.

    Douglas Hannant s Pink collection for Fall 2012 is ultra feminine with models sashaying down the runway decked in feathers, bows, lace and funky eyewear. Celeb Stylist Phillip Bloch calls it; "young but mature at the same time. There was something for women of every age," Bold hues ruled via printed dresses, tailored skirts and luxe outerwear. The knee socks added an element of school girl cool. Hannant himself calls is " Very collegiate, rich college girl."

    Max Azria s inspiration for this collection was COLOR! Lots of tan, taupe, and black with pops of turquoise, orange, yellow and rust. Longer proportions and geometric accents. And don t forget the FUR....there was a frenzy of it on sleeves and cuffs.

    New York Fashion Week officially kicked off at the Heart Truth s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show at Hammerstein Ballroom. The runway was star studded; Minka Kelly sparkled in a sequin frock, while funny girl, Jenna Elfman danced down the runway giving the paps a little shoulder shake. Model, Christie Brinkley walked the runway in a chiffon number by Pamella Roland, to a familiar tune...her Ex Hubby s hit, Uptown Girl. Also on hand, La La, Aisha Tyler, Jennifer Nettles, Elisabeth Rohm, Gloria Estefan, Debbie Phelps, Patti Stanger and Chaka Khan.
