I Spit On Your Grave

by Brian Willett

The new film I Spit On Your Grave is unrated, and that’s a good indication that if you are not completely desensitized to movie violence and overall mental horror, you probably shouldn’t see it. I Spit On Your Grave shows that even in 2010, some humans aren’t civilized at all – because events in the film could actually happen, and because people actually want to watch this stuff.

I Spit On Your Grave (2010) is a remake of the 1978 film Day of the Woman and follows the story of a writer who moves into a secluded mountain cabin to work in peace – she gets anything but. ┬áThe writer, played by Sarah Butler, is stalked and eventually raped, after which she seeks to enact her revenge in the goriest, most torturous ways possible. ┬áBecause more violence and torture is needed in our society.
