“Before I Die” A Chalkboard in New Orleans by Candy Chang.
by Daniel Haim
Candy Chang turned to the side of an abandoned house in his neighborhood, turning it into a giant chalkboard that reads “Before I Die I want to ______. ” encouraging visitors who visited the New Orleans neighborhood to stop by the corner of Marigny and Burgundy (900 Marigny Street to be exact) to add their thoughts. Only a day later, the wall was already full of responses.
Once the wall has been filled, they washed it with water and started it over again. Documenting all responses, and some will be included in a book.
