Cinema For Peace Comes to Cannes to Acknowledge Sean Penn for Haiti Work

Cinema for Peace, the annual Berlin based event which focuses on outstanding cinematic work which highlights the human condition and human values, made its Cannes debut yesterday, Wednesday May 18, with a dinner held at the Carlton Hotel.

The event was sponsored by Salus Alpha, Giorgio Armani and Maybach and hosted by philanthropist Ella Krasner, Oliver Prock, Cinema for Peace founder Jaka Bizilj, Roberta Armani, on behalf of Giorgio Armani, and Maybach.

Sean Penn was acknowledged for his continuing work in Haiti through the J/P Haitian Relief Organization which provides relief efforts in that stricken country. J/P HRO manages five vital programs in areas related to Camp Management, Medical, Rubble Removal Facilitating Community Regeneration, Education, and Emergency Response Operations.

The event will raise money for the J/P HRO through donations, pledges and a silent auction which included art, an exclusive Armani package and a walk on role in an upcoming film to star Dustin Hoffman and Anthony Hopkins.
