Weekly Feature: Mi-Zo for Velvet Magazine Italy

by Samantha Kate Jourdan

This revolutionary shoot by the mighty duo that are Mi-Zo had FACTORY311’s eyes mesmerized when they sent it over to us on a foggy afternoon in London town. This shoot was for Italy’s Velvet Magazine, their concept being ‘Gemstones’ and all make up was carried out on the shoot, no Photoshop involved! Mi-Zo always cease to defy the norm, and there are no exceptions here as the futuristic muse of metallic colors and gemstones create the most striking & angelic of beauty imagery.

Photographer Zoren Gold and graphic artist Minori Murakami have been collaborating as a photographic twosome since 2000 and began working together in Tokyo for the past 7 years, they now live and work in Los Angeles. Having produced work for the likes of Ray Ban, Coca Cola, Canon, Sony, Universal and Warner Brothers Records, and published in magazines such as Vogue and Dazed & Confused the sky is the limit for the talented combo.

I for one have had one of their photography books ‘Object that Dreams’ on my bookshelf for many years that has served as a constant source of inspiration through my university years and I have no doubt in saying they will carry on to impress for years to come…
