Suzanne Tick – Material Thinking
by Daniel Haim
As I am curiously planning ahead the week to come, filling it up with exhibitions, showcases and stunning previews I came across this interesting invite to Suzanne Tick and Hazel Siegel: Material Thinking.
This video, shot by our good friend Adrian Wilson shows the pieces of woven art created by Suzanne Tick from thousands of used wire hangers discarded by dry cleaners in Manhattan.
Textile designers Suzanne Tick and Hazel Siegel both served as creative directors at KnollTextiles where each made important contributions to the stylistic and technical range of textiles. In this conversation, the designers will talk about the innovative work that they did for Knoll– how it informed, or remained independent of their current work in the studio–and their role in educating a new generation of designers.
