Daniel Weiss – Namaste ‘It Took Four Sleepless Nights’

The fact that I never graduated from high school tells a lot – one of the specifics is that I never went to art school, frankly because I didn’t go to school at all. But I had the pleasure of getting to know very talented people throughout the years.

Daniel Weiss is one of them. Daniel is a close friend of mine, I consider him a family friend. I remember the day he picked up a guitar for the first time and I will not forget how passionate he was for it. He wanted to spend the rest of his life practicing music. I see him as a young John Mayer, although he does not play the same style and rarely sings – his passion for music is beyond what I can say.

Weiss has performed alongside such noted musicians as Ralph Peterson , Tiger Okoshi, Chris potter and Peter Wertheimer as well as opening acts for Avishai Cohen , Jeff “Tain” Watts (Tel Aviv) & Horacio el Negro Hernandez (in tour to Budapest) In Boston Weiss played at clubs such as Wallys , Mat Murphy’s, Church Bar,Great Scott , and Berklee Performance Center Recital Hall’s In New York City – Piano’s Bar and Trash Bar.

Recently he had the opportunity of working with the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra, he tells me:

“I had the opportunity of getting involved with the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra. My father, who is a musician himself suggested featuring me in a concert he is conducting in Jerusalem. I had four days to come up with an arrangement for an entire orchestra. my dear friend Aviram Gottfried came to my rescue and we sat down for four sleepless nights trying to come up with the proper orchestration for my original tune which is called Namaste.”

Have a listen, I’m sure you will enjoy this as much as I have. And I am sure you will agree how talented Daniel Weiss is.
