Giorgio Armani dedicates his Privé Collection to Japan
by Daniel Haim
Giorgio Armani’s work has often drawn inspiration from Japan. A great admirer of the captivating culture and the refined sense of aesthetics of this country, he also has always held the Japanese in high regard for their deep-rooted courage and composure. Having been profoundly moved by the tragic events unleashed by the earthquake last March, the Italian designer has decided to dedicate his Giorgio Armani Privé couture collection for autumn/winter to Japan.
“Hommage au Japon” is the creative gesture that marks the culmination of the important and significant aid that Giorgio Armani has extended to the “UNESCO Association Scholarship for 3.11 Disaster Stricken Children and Students” to support a 3-year scholarship program for children whose families have been affected by the disaster.
