Pixel Art-Like Drawings by Gus Morais
by Daniel Haim
Something about this era attracts me the most, I was growing up playing video games that were constructed just like that, if it’s “Where’s Waldo?” or Secret Agent (one of my favorite PC games) to Commander Keen. This pixel art is a project illustrated by Brazilian digital artist Gus Morais.
These drawings are not made with that traditional pixel-art style: Gus says he prefers to develop a more free, personal approach when drawing the figures and the scenarios – but always maintaining the isometric feel. This style is close to that of old “Where’s Waldo?” illustrations, but with a new and modern approach.
