Ming Xi and Caroline Brasch Nielsen for Vogue China
by Alice Byrne
Ming Xi and Caroline Brasch Nielsen are shot by Daniel Jackson in this studio-based fashion editorial for the August issue of Vogue China. The two pale models are wrapping up for winder, as they are shot in some of the best outerwear designs from the fall collections. These pieces are mainly black and white, with color pops of red and dusky pink, from labels including Valentino, Balenciaga, Falke, Jil Sander, Celine, Carolina Amato and Calvin Klein.
I think this is a really great, clean editorial. I love the simplistic color scheme and the simple nature of the styling and photography. It is one of the shoots where simplicity wins out, and creates an editorial that is timeless and classic in its approach. I think that both models look fantastic here, and the make-up and hair styling really adds to the overall look of the photo-shoot. The red lipstick in particular adds a bit of drama to the color blocking trend that is being shown.
