Behind the Scenes at Stephane Rolland

by Alice Byrne

Here, we get to have a sneaky peak behind the scenes of Stephane Rolland’s show at Paris Fashion Week. These documentary-style backstage photographs are a great insight into the goings-on behind the scenes, and a fantastic way to have a close-up look at the clothes that would soon be heading down the runway.

Stephane Rolland’s show took place as part of Paris Fashion Week at Cite de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine on July 5, 2011. From these images, it is instantly obvious that the collection is beautiful. Lots of structure, texture and a wise use of color brings the series of designs to life. Each piece is sharp and strong, but does not appear over the top or exaggerated. The styling, make-up and hair here is very sexy, and works well with the designs, without drawing the focus away from the creative fashion.

I love the blonde model getting her hair fixed with the ruffle-front dress, and what I would see as the stand out image from this series, the blonde model with dark lipstick and a black strapless dress, who is posing like a pro for the camera. These documentary photographs are beautiful, and give a wonderful preview of Stephane Rolland’s collection.
