1940’s Glamor, Barbara Palvin

by Alice Byrne

It is all about 1940’s glamor in this fashion editorial for the September issue of Vogue Australia. Photographed by Eric Guillemain, Barbara Palvin takes what looks like a casual afternoon walk around a beautiful town, and she just happens to be wearing some of the most gorgeous pieces from the fall collections. Styled by Naomi Smith, these super-feminine looks include pieces from Louis Vuitton, Rochas, Miu Miu, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dries van Noten and Botega Venta among others. These fashion choices bring lady-like confidence and elegance to the photographs. This mature and elegant styling is enhanced by Barbara’s loose curls, by Paolo Ferreira. This hair styling looks both innocent and sexy, and with Barbara’s wide eyes and striking face, the make-up by Tiina Roivainen brings the styling back to a classic and timeless look.

I really like Barbara Palvin as a model. I just think she has a very interesting look. She does look very young here, so dressing up in lady-like tweed and prints styles does look slightly unusual. I think it works though, 1940’s inspired fashion looks good on nearly everyone, it was such a great time for fashion.
