Gucci Glamor Continues in Interview Magazine
by Alice Byrne
These photographs scream Gucci before you even properly look at them. The latest issue of Interview magazine shines a light on Gucci, and the label’s impressive creative director, Frida Gianni. The accompanying shoot for the interview with Gianni is shot by Mert & Marcus, and stars models Saskia de Brauw and Marique Schimmel in the latest, seventies-glam looks from the autumn collection, styled by fashion editor Karl Templer.
Following a similar overall aesthetic from the campaign images, these photographs are high contrast, high glamor and high gloss. It is clear from the fall campaign, that Gucci intends on selling glamor, and this fashion editorial does exactly that. Like the promotional images, each photograph is full of rich colors and jewel tones.
Each photograph is dark and seductive. The deserted park setting works well as a continuation of the luxury story from the campaign images. Whilst the location is different, the images maintain a similar dark glamor and noir-quality. You just want to see where these two characters are going to end up next.
